About Javo Esquivel 👋

I'm Javier, but you can call me Javo. I'm a product designer based in Santiago, Chile, and I've been doing this since 2012. What pulls me to design is the small stuff: the micro-decisions and tiny details that turn a tap or a swipe into something that feels intuitive and human, not just functional.

Outside of work, I'm into video games and design craft that makes you stop and look. I'm also drawn to puzzles, escape rooms, and anything that makes me sit and think. That curiosity is part of why I co-created La del Día, the Chilean Wordle: a daily word game built around local slang and street talk. Building it has pushed me to think in ways I don't usually find when designing products.

I also host “A Medias 🧦”, a podcast where we look at projects to figure out what worked, what didn't, and what's worth trying next.
